Belgium 3-1 Israel: De Bruyne double hands Red Devils winning start

Belgium got their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign off to a winning start with a 3-1 victory over Israel on Wednesday.

Kevin De Bruyne scored twice in the first half, with Eden Hazard adding a third after the break, as Roberto Martinez's side made it 10 wins from 10 in World Cup qualifiers.

Munas Dabbur pulled one back for Israel with 15 minutes remaining, but it was not enough to prevent Belgium from claiming all three points.

De Bruyne stars as Belgium cruise to victory

De Bruyne was in inspired form for Belgium, scoring two goals and creating several chances for his teammates.

The Manchester City midfielder opened the scoring in the 13th minute, curling a stunning free-kick into the top corner of the net.

He doubled his tally 10 minutes later, tapping in from close range after Romelu Lukaku's shot had been saved.

Hazard adds third as Belgium dominate

Hazard made it 3-0 to Belgium in the 52nd minute, finishing off a fine move involving De Bruyne and Lukaku.

The Real Madrid winger could have added a fourth late on, but his shot was saved by Israel goalkeeper Ofir Marciano.

Dabbur pulled one back for Israel in the 75th minute, but it was too little too late for the visitors.

Belgium extend perfect record in World Cup qualifiers

The victory extends Belgium's perfect record in World Cup qualifiers to 10 wins from 10.

They are now top of Group E, with the Czech Republic, Wales, and Belarus all on six points after two games.

Belgium's next qualifier is at home to the Czech Republic on September 5.
